Simply Because...

He's cute! And no, we don't have him locked up in a cage, or caught in some kind of toddler-catching net (though not a bad idea, come to think of it) he's bouncing!

Latest Connorism: Singing the ABC song....think you know it? Guess again! Goes a little something like this:

"abcd abc abcd (shouting) LMNOP abc mumble mumble mumble WXYZ!" Now you know your abcs...next time won't you (try) to sing with Connor!

In Loving Memory

I want to take just a moment to honor my father. Today is the 5th anniversary of the day he returned to be with his Lord and Savior. I miss you Daddy, more than words can say. Lonny and I talk about you all the time, and Connor will look at your picture and say "Grandpa". I know you can hear us. I know that you are with Mom and that you are so happy to be together. We all love you both very, very much.

Hello, Autumn!

We are officially in the first days of my favorite season! I know I can hear the collective groan of all you sun worshippers (Lonny included) but I love love love this time of year. There is so much to look forward to: playing in the leaves, lighting fireplaces, wearing sweaters, making soups and other "comfort" foods....I love it all. Our anniversary is coming up, Halloween (I won't reveal here what Connor is going to be, but I will say it is off the charts on the cuteness scale), Thanksgiving...my favorites! Before you know it, winter will be here. Make sure you make the most of these perfect autumn days - take a walk, ride or drive, just make sure you go out and look at fall colors, get out your favorite blanket to curl up in, stock up on the cocoa and cider and get ready to revel!

You Can't Rain On Peace

Well, our performance today at the International Peace Day Concert was wet and wild! Right as I walked out of the covered parking, congas in hand, it started pouring rain. But it didn't dampen our spirits, we just waited it out. As soon as the sky cleared, we set up real quick and started our set. There were lots of people walking around the library square, and we had quite a few stop what they were doing and come over and listen to us. We got to try out some originals never before performed, as well as more familiar stuff. We were lucky to have a very appreciative, if small crowd. Right as we were starting our last song the heavens opened up again so we had to run for cover (me running in sandals with two congas, drum stand, a stool, purse, phone and umbrella...quite a sight). Want to thank one of my brothers from another mother Gary for putting this all together. All we are saying, is give peace (and the weather) a chance!!!

Busy Busy

There has been a whirlwind of activity around our house lately, and hopefully I will have more to share soon. But I will do a remind about my two upcoming gigs...I have been rehearsing like crazy! I want to extend an invitation to all you girls to "The Parable of the Ten Virgins"....I can't say that anyone's acting skills (mine especially) will be Oscar worthy, but it has a beautiful message and the songs are truly amazing. Kurt Bestor had his hand in this along with a great LDS artist named Hilary Weeks. Some come on over to my ward house Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. if you would like to check it out.

On Saturday I am performing at the International Peace Festival at the Library Amphitheater downtown with Leo Ego, my acoustic group. We are doing a shortie, from 4:15 to 4:45 in the afternoon. Here's hoping that there won't be any rain! And peace is something all of us could use, right? So come and celebrate!

If you can't come to either, that's okay too! Although I may be taking a little time off for a while, to catch my breath and who knows what?!?! As always, thank you for your support and your prayers!
