Connorism

As previously mentioned, Connor spent the night at Grandma's the other night. In the morning, she asked him what he would like for breakfast. Connor loves him some waffles, so that was his request. Grandma got out the waffle iron and Connor said something about getting the cold waffles out.

Grandma: I make my waffles from scratch.

Connor: I don't like my waffles scratched.

Now the world over knows that not only does my son believe that waffles come from the freezer (which they generally do at our house) but that he has no idea what "from scratch" means. Sigh.

Connor's Birthday Continues.....

Yesterday our little man turned 5!!! He has already had a party with Thomas - his date with Mommy and a Daddy/Son camp-out. Now it was time for his actual birthday celebration. Tuesday night he spent the night at Grandma's and played with his cousins visiting from Alaska. This gave Dad a chance to set up his birthday surprise..a trampoline (no pics, video only, but I will post some soon)!! He played it cool, but was pretty excited! It was starting to rain so off to Planet Play!! He had a little dinner (with all his favorites, including "ice cream in a cone") then we played laser tag, rode the cars and played games. A very wound up boy finally went to bed around 11:00 (he was put down sooner, but kept coming up with excuses to get up again).

We are so proud of our Connor and the little man that he is becoming! He is happy to be starting kindergarten, still loves Thomas, "Movie Car" (we are soooo excited for Cars 2 to come out) and can name almost all the dinosaurs there are. He loves to play "I Spy" and is terrible at hide and seek (you say "ready or not, here I come" Connor says "here I am!") and will start soccer next week-end. He loves to shake his bum bum and always asks if he can get on the stage and dance with me when I have a gig. He is so happy and healthy. We just love him so much! My life would be a lot less sunnier without this wonderful boy!

Whew! Now just one more party left at the Aquarium this week-end! Then Mom and Dad are going to collapse!

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

The post is a little late, but I have to share....

I am so truly blessed.....

Preschool Graduate!

Connor had the honor of participating in graduation this last week! Once I was home on leave, Connor stayed home with me and stopped attending his full time preschool. He has been going to one here in our ward. He was pretty advanced, but had fun going just the same, socializing with friends and keeping up his skills. Even though he only attended for two months, we was allowed to "matriculate". He even led the graduating class down the aisle. Hopefully this is an omen of good things to come in the future! Miss Aimee had a great program, including passing the mike and stating what you want to be when you grow up. Connor announced that he would like to be a policeman. They sang songs and showed some of their skills. Then of course, ate the obligatory sugar cookies. It was a terrific night! We are very proud, but can't believe he is starting kindergarten in just a few months!

Monkey Island

For Victoria's 5th Birthday, we went to Monkey Island! So much fun (and cupcakes too)! As you can see, it was nothin' but monkey business!

Abby with her Aunt Marcy:

Abby-Girl checks out the action:

Bumbo Fun is Jumbo Fun!

To Abby, this is SERIOUS BUSINESS:

To Ella, not so much:

Everyone gets in on the act:

Bubmos are fun, but at the end of the day, Ella (and Abby) prefer their swing.

Day Out With Connor (Oh, and Thomas too!)

As part of Connor's 5th birthday this year, he got to go see Thomas the Train. (It's the "Real" Thomas...just ask Con Con, he'll tell ya). It was a surprise, so I didn't tell him until we got there and he heard a train whistle and saw the "coaches". ("look Mom! It's trains...with chug-a chug-as!!!!"). He was one excited boy. We did everything there was to do, and some of it twice. He rode the big train himself, got a hand tattoo, played with the train tables, ate cotton candy, had his picture taken with Sir Toppemhat, wanted every single thing in the gift tent and even played in a tambourine band! It was just me and my boy and it was so fun spending the day together. Our only regret? That beautiful big head of his couldn't fit in the conductor's hat (too full of brains), but he handled it okay. He got a certificate from the real conductor that certifies him as a Junior Engineer and that made up for it. On the way home, he was pretty tired. I knew he was out like a little train light when he finally stopped asking me how much longer we would be in the car. Happy pre-birthday, Connor. The party is just starting!

Love (and Fun!) At Home

Since it has been the longest winter on record, we are still stuck in the house alot! But whether it's practicing silly faces, having mom sing funny songs, tattoos on our foreheads or even a visit from Nacho Libre, we are making the most of it!
