You DO Belong At the Zoo!!

Okay, so I am totally psyched! I just got to spend the morning at the Hogle Zoo discussing our upcoming performances, settling logistics, getting set lists approved, signing contracts....whew! I can't tell you how TOTALLY EXCITED I am to play there...it is such an amazing setting and it's just going to be so much fun. Please please please, try to get out to one of these events and support our wonderful zoo. We were treated to an "exclusive" VIP tour and just had such a blast. We are told that everyone, from the staff, to the critters, are ready to rock and roll...atomic style!!

On April 25th, for the Spring Break Party for the Planet, there is a time change...we will be playing from 11:00-2:00. We will be in the Oasis area, by the merry-go-round and next to the Oasis cafe. They will have outdoor grills set up and will be offering pulled pork and grilled pineapple (I don't know how I will be able to concentrate on singing with that going on).

On May 9th, for the Macy's Mom and Me celebration, don't forget to head over to Macys' and buy your special t-shirt for $7.00 - that will get you into the Zoo for "free" without having to pay the $9.00 entry fee, and will make you eligible to participate in various activities. We will be playing at the big covered pavillion right next to the entrance from 10:00 - 1:00. If you don't have your t-shirt, you can buy one there....bad news is there is ususally a big old line...good news, the line winds past where we will be playing and where Meadow Gold will be giving away ice cream samples!!

We are so grateful for this opportunity...we were told this morning that the Mother's Day event ususally brings out between 12,000-15,000 people. I hope you will be one of them!!

Parent Gallery

Sorry to bomb ya with adoption profiles, but we now have another resource where you can send family and friends to look us over. It's a smaller profile, but we are happy to have them out there in as many places as possible. Again, PLEASE feel free to forward this (or any of the others, or all three of them!) to as many people as you know! We also wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to add us to their blog, or even give us a little shout out with a link to profiles/blog/whatevers!

Just FYI, I am doing another presentation on adoption at BYU on Monday for my father in law's Intro to Social Work class. I am very excited, as many of these students will be future adoption case workers, and I hope that our stories will get them motivated and come to love adoption with all their hearts. Please keep me in your prayers that I am guided by Spirit to say the right things and that maybe, just maybe, I will be able to touch some hearts about this beautiful miracle!!

Someone gave me a quote recently "Don't ask God to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet". So here I am, folks, dancing as fast as I can!!!

Thanks again for the love and support.

Ch Ch Check it Out!

Over there on the right hand side, we have our adoption profile. LDS has made it new and improved with lots more pictures and personal information about us. There are still some kinks being worked out (some pictures are blurry, etc) but we would love your feedback and would really love it if you would pass it on to people you think would be interested. We will soon have another profile up to tell you about, through Parent Profiles, that we are excited about too...any minute! Most importantly, please keep us in your prayers! We are so anxious to bring a new little one home....we just have to find him/her!!! Thanks and we love you!!!

BY THE WAY: To all my beautiful adoption friends, if you are by chance attending the Utah Adoption Council conference tomorrow, stop by and say hi to me at the FSA booth...I'm womanning (as opposed to manning) it from 10:30-12:30 and would love to hug you!

Girls Night Out

It was once again time for the Secret Girls Club to convene and have our monthly meeting. And to celebrate Ginnie, Lisa and Pearl's birthdays! Because sometimes a girl's got to blow off a little steam, and to make sure Joe's Crab Shack had no idea what hit 'em, here is our night in pictures. At least the ones I can share....

Oops, How could I?

-fail to mention how proud we all are of my nephew Cayden for making the decision to be baptized! We went down to Lehi (like that's far away or something) last Saturday and it was just a great day. Well, except for when Con-Con pointed at a lady in the next pew over in a bright yellow shirt and shouted (top of lung) "Big Bird! Big Bird!" And of course there was the moment of silence when he shouted "Yay for Jesus!!" (I believe that was the Pentacostal side of the family coming out..) There was also Angela's Flying Butt Bounce, well documented on Marcy's blog, (and caught on video) check it out. All in all, a memorable day! Yay for Cayden!

-forget to thank my father in law, and the aforementioned Angela, for allowing me to take part in an awesome (if I do say so myself) presentation on adoption at BYU! Paw in law, cause, well, it was his class, and Angela for helping wrangle Connor for me. It was really great..it consisted of Connie the Amazing (the adoption supervisor at our agency), a darling birthmother and me. We each took a turn talking to the students about adoption and what a miracle it is. Then they got to ask us questions. We get to do it again later in the month. What a truly incredible opportunity!

I am sure I am forgetting more...Hmmm...well, it will come to me in a couple of days. Or not!

A Very Good Week

I would be very remiss if I didn't express gratitude for a very good week. Lots of good things happened and I am feeling so humble and thankful....

-I have 8 gigs coming up, 7 of which are with my band. We have worked so hard and now there seems to be some pay off. I am grateful for the hard work of all the guys and am looking forward to sharing our music all around the valley.

-I lost my 20th pound this week!! Nuff said...

-I actually was able to hold a baby this week...the first time since, well, you know. For me, this was a huge milestone and I am so glad that I was able to do this.
I could not have done it without lots and lots of tender mercy. Whew!

-I have optimism again...no, I mean really. We are certain, certain, certain, that there is a little spirit out there looking for us. We are determined to find that little one and bring him/her home. And we have gathered up new reserves of strength! And I am really grateful for the opportunity I have to go do 2 presentations at BYU this month on adoption, thanks to my Paw-In-Law!!

So much more....I have wonderful wonderful friends who I love so much, one I am hopefully reconnecting with after so very long, others who are there for me every single day, others who I don't talk to so much, but I feel your support and love all the time. So if you don't mind me bragging a little, I am a lucky lucky girl.

Another Facebook Success Story

This is just some happiness I wanted to share.....those of you who know me well, know that there is another man in my life who means the world to me - my best friend since we were six years old, Jimmy. Unfortunately, because that's the way life works sometimes, I have not had contact with him in about 7 1/2 years. Again, if you know me really well, and it's okay if you don't know about this because I don't talk about it a lot, you know that this has caused me a lot of pain. However, I have never stopped loving him and missing him. Today, I got an invitation to be friends with him on Facebook and got to open his profile and see his wonderful self. I am so beyond, I can't even express. Tears of joy, the whole bag of chips. And may I add, it felt really good to finally cry out of happiness... Here's to rebuilding a very important part of my life! I love you, Mouse!!!
