There's No Canyon like Snow Canyon

To ring in the new year, we decided to try out our new RV. I am so excited about this new addition to the family! Now that we probably will never be able to afford to fly again (and one trip with babies to Hawaii is enough, thank you very much) this will provided us with tons of fun. So off we went, to camp.

Crazy to camp in December you say? Well, you are correct, sort of. We went down to one of my favorite places on Earth, Snow Canyon. And as it just so happens, two of my favorite people on Earth, Mike and Elaine have retired to Ivins. They literally live two miles from the mouth of the canyon. (Retire...ha! If you call mountain biking, hiking and soaking up beautiful sunrises and sunsets every single day of their lives retiring). So it was a double whammy....camping AND visiting friends.

It was actually quite nice there in the day, you could get away with sweaters and light jackets. Mike and Elaine took us on a little baby hike so Ella and Abby could get a taste for the great outdoors. We also took Connor to play in the sand dunes. We cooked great meals on the new Camp Chef, flew kites, went on a Mommy-Connor hike, took the babies out in the stroller and just enjoyed the beauty of it all. Nights were pretty chilly. We even visited Uncle Joe and Aunt Debbie's beautiful home in St. George. On New Year's Eve, after the kids went to sleep, Lonny, Kyle and I popped some popcorn and watched a movie in the car! Lonny was determined that we stay up til midnight. So we piled on more layers of clothing and sat by the dwindling fire. We cracked open some Martinelli's and had the most peaceful, quiet New Year's Eve ever. At 12:03 a.m. I was in bed.

We love camping...it is Connor's favorite thing ever and the girls seemed to enjoy themselves too (though they didn't like being in the car so long). Here's too many more camping adventures!
