Easter Eggs

It has been too too long since I blogged, now I will have to play catch up!

Easter was really fun for us this year, as I am sure you can imagine. Connor had a blast! Our sweet neighbors, the Heatons, host an easter egg hunt every year. There are tons of eggs for the kids and yummy yummy food afterwards. Sometimes it's sunny, sometimes, not so much, but it is always fun for the kids and a great time to socialize! Connor was so funny this year. He was definitely going for quality, not quantity. I would try to direct him to a big bunch of eggs, and he would go off and find one pink egg. Or one blue egg. It had to be the right color. By the end of it, he had hardly any eggs at all. So his friends, Preston and Cayden jumped in and helped him collect the rest. At least he's not greedy!!!




We also dyed eggs! This was a lot of fun, I never knew Lonny was so talented in this department! There were some really beautiful eggs. On Easter, Connor went on a basket hunt. He had to follow clues around the house til he found his basket (not pictured, all on video. I must better myself at multi-tasking!). There was a message about Jesus on the basket, lest we forget what Easter is all about. What a great day!

Meeting Uncle Lance

One by one, the girls are meeting their family! By July, if all goes as planned, they should meet everyone!

We were very excited to visit with Lance last month, though we missed the girls. Here he is meeting his newest nieces for the first time:





Connor had the opportunity to go play in the snow with his uncle, though apparently we only have video, no pictures. They went snowmobiling thanks to Uncle Kyle!!! Connor just loves Lance. Lonny taught him that you say "uncle" when wrestling and when you want to give up. Instead Connor always yells, "Uncle Lance! Uncle Lance!" It always cracks me up.

We are thrilled that Lacie and Lance are expecting a little boy of their own this summer. Lance will make such a great boy dad! Though as you can see, he has a soft spot for little girls too. Congratulations Lance and Lacie!!!

GIg Alert!

I should go through fertility treatments, get pregnant with twins, have the pregnancy ride of my life, have babies, take extended maternity leave and raise two babies more often! All of a sudden, musically, I am in HIGH DEMAND!!!

All joking aside, we have been getting calls to do many, many gigs (some even, gasp, PAYING gigs) and are really excited. I am starting to feel like a REAL MUSICIAN!!!

There is one coming up real fast...it is Friday, May 13th at Soda Row in Daybreak. We will be playing from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. I am not exactly sure of the location but I am sure it will be easy to find us. It always is. If you miss this one, we are very excited to announce that we have been asked to play this once a month from May -September, so there will be lots of other chances.

Things are being negotiated right now, but there will be more announcements soon. There really has been a flurry of activity.

Now for those of you anxious for baby pictures, will post some soon, maybe tonight. We are down to just our laptop now and though Lon has shown me how to get the pictures on here, I can never seem to remember. I promise to take notes next time!

God Bless America

It is a tricky thing, celebrating the death of someone. But today it means healing. It means some sort of closure for those who lost loved ones. It means that our country can stand together. On 9/11, they didn't kill Republicans or Democrats. They killed Americans. They tried to kill American spirit and what we stand for. There, they did not succeed. It is as Americans today that we come together, reflect and hey, I'll say it, rejoice. God bless our leader (I don't think it should matter what your politics are, please, just for today), the intelligence agencies and our brave Navy Seals. We will never allow terrorists or anyone else keep us from being who we are. God Bless our country and our strong, resiliant and hopefully UNITED citizens. Really, when it comes down to it, this isn't even an American thing. It's a human being thing. For what is right, just and true will always prevail. AMEN!!!

Baby Update

The girls went for their 4 month check up today!

Abby - weighs in at (are you ready for this?) 10 POUNDS!!! That is 10 pounds of chubby baby goodness. That is a long way from 2 lbs, 14 ounces. I am so pleased. Of course that still puts them way below the old percentile for their actual age. If they were born in February, according to plan, they would be right on target. Preemies are special! Abs is 21 3/4 inches long and is doing well. She gives lots of smiles to her Daddy in particular (still a Daddy's girl) and never hesitates to let you know when she needs something. She has infant reflux which makes for some big challenges around here, but we now have a diagnosis, special formula (that we got for free, thank you thank you Dr. "Koola") and some medication to try. I have vowed to stop feeding her pepperoni pizza with pineapple juice (haha) at least until her tummy calms down. Keep your fingers crossed!

Ella Bella weighs in at 9 lbs 9 oz. This is good, but we were a little surprised. She eats way more than Abby and doesn't have tummy trouble, so we thought she would be closer. She is 22 (my lucky number) inches long, so a little longer than Sissy. She is 100 percent healthy and bless this child full of sweetness and light, she sleeps through the night! She talks up a storm to me and is full of smiles. She loves to kick her little legs and push against things with them. She is super strong.

They both have really strong head control and we have been practicing our tummy time (man, they hate it, and mommy doesn't like it much either hahaha). They are grasping things (Ella in particular has quite the iron grip and Abby has given me a few memorable "t"twisters and if you have to ask, let's just say it rhymes with "kitty" and leave it at that). We love them to pieces...but will readily admit they are a lot of work!!! We say it all the time how blessed we are. The doctor always reminds us. Considering all that we went through, all the complications they could have had (particularly with the 2 vessel cords) they are just doing great and we are so thankful.

They go back again in June.....can't wait to see where they are then!

One Handsome Guy

Thank goodness for Angela who took pictures of Connor on our blessing day. It is so hard to be mom and photographer (and a bad one at that) which is why there are seldom any pictures of me with my kids (but I am sure none of you can relate to that!)
