Atomic Amy has just secured three dates at the Hogle Zoo for this spring. Mark your calendars!
April 24th - Party for the Planet (times to be determined, watch for posting) Hopefully it won't rain this year!
May 8th - Macy's Mom & Me - make sure you stop by AFTER the Race for the Cure (I am going to try and do both, why don't you? We can run together!) Probably from 12-3....
June 26th - Dari's 50th Birthday Party - This is to highlight Hogle's African Elephant! She is the oldest African Elephant in North America! It will be a 60's theme party at the Zoo.
Hope you can come to one (or more) of our dates!

Quotes About Adoption
A Special One for You, Connor:
I did not give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of YOU!!
The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’’s life. -Richard Bach
If a child is born and raised in a home that is loving and nurturing, where there is complete truth about who we are, you can’t give a child any greater place from which to fly. -Amanda Bearse
Time and experience have taught me a priceless lesson: Any child you take for your own becomes your own if you give of yourself to that child. I have born two children and had seven others by adoption, and they are all my children, equally beloved and precious. -Dale Evans
We look at adoption as a very sacred exchange. It was not done lightly on either side. I would dedicate my life to this child. -Jamie Lee Curtis
I realized at the start that whether a child is biological or adopted, one does not know all the ingredients in the package. That is what growth is all about. A child is the slowest flower in the world, opening petal by petal, revealing the developing personality within. -Robert Klose
Somehow destiny comes into play. These children end up with you and you end up with them. It’’s something quite magical. -Nicole Kidman
Adoptive Mom? I am Mom. I need no other label or prefix. -Joanne Greco
It has been said that adoption is more like a marriage than a birth: two (or more) individuals, each with their own unique mix of needs, patterns, and genetic history, coming together with love, hope, and commitment for a joint future. You become a family not because you share the same genes, but because you share love for each other. -Joan McNamara
By choice, we have become a family, first in our hearts, and finally in breath and being. Great expectations are good; great experiences are better. -Richard Fischer

Words of Inspiration
Theme is .....Gratitude
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” — Thornton Wilder
“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer
“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” — Epictetus
“Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted–a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.” — Rabbi Harold Kushner
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.” — Denis Waitley
