Aloha, Grandma and Grandpa!
Lonny's parents, Lynn and Edy, have made the decision to go on a mission! They will be serving in Honolulu (bummer for them, right?) and will be working at the Student Counseling Center at BYU Hawaii. We sent them off Aloha style with leis, gifts and a party. We attended their "not a farewell" farewell and the girls decided to get all decked out in pretty dresses for the occasion. We look forward to hearing wonderful stories and hope for the best possible outcome for Lynn and Edy. We also look forward to visiting them in October! Since our babysitter for the New York trip is now going to be strumming a ukelele, we had to move our anniversary party to Hawaii! Sigh. There's worse things, I guess. In any case, we send our prayers and best wishes to Grandma and Grandpa!
First Day of School
Like all Moms when this day comes, I can't believe my baby is big enough to be going off to school. It seems like only yesterday he was being placed in my arms for the first time...
Connor is off to kindergarten. He is all set, with a Cars 2 backpack. He was initally nervous and told me that there are monsters at kindergarten. (My friend Aimee said he is absolutely right, they are called "mean girls" but we don't need to go there quite yet) He had a chance to see his classroom and meet his teacher and it was love at first sight. He couldn't wait to start! He was still was a little cautious about going in the classroom, but once he stepped through those doors he nevr looked back! He is learning much and we are all enjoying the chance for him to go and be with other kids for part of the day. Lonny and I are so proud of this little man!!!
P.S. - I am proud of me too. I only teared up a little.

Jimmy and Me
Besides being a mommy to three adorable kids, the highlight of my summer was my trip home to Orange County. I got to spend three days with my beloved Jimmy, thank you Lonny and Cassandra (who took care of my kids!). We had a wonderful time cruisin' around Newport Beach, visiting snooty consignment stores (I didn't see anything over a size 4 in any of them), enjoying beautiful walks and a trip to the botanical gardens, being "ladies who lunch", laying by the pool, meeting new friends (holla Heather and Crazy Leila!) and going to the Orange County Fair. I cannot tell you how much I needed this trip! I love my friend so much (isn't he gorgeous? sorry girls, he bats for the other team) and when I am with him we just laugh and laugh. Everyone gets irritated with us because we do sort of go off in our own space, we speak our own language. But it's okay, there is plenty of fun to go around. He is a very important part of my life and even just three days meant the world to me. I love you Mouse!!!
Connorpalooza
I was feeling guilty the other day that I haven't been able to give Connor a really great summer..the last one before he starts his school career. But in looking back, he's had an awfully good time!
Besides the birthday blow out, Connor had some great experiences. With the big family reunion, he was able to go to This is the Place monument, do a ropes course, lots of playtime and sleep-overs. He went on a trip to Lake Powell with Daddy and his uncles (including Uncle James) and some of his cousins. He and Mom went to see the dinosaurs at the Zoo and he played with the drums at one of Mom's gigs. He has had tons of playdates. The two of us went on a MARATHON 7 hour shopping day for back to school and he didn't complain once. In fact, it was a great day. He has been so helpful with the babies. Even though he had a good one, I hope next year is even better!! The unflapple, relentlessly cheerful, Connor!

Ella Bella Summer
Ella too has had a great time this summer! Not long after Sister, Ella started eating solids too. She has had a harder time (just like she did learning to drink from the bottle) but is getting better and better. Of course, when she started to eat the camera was in Lake Powell. I took a great shot with my phone, but I am not sure how to upload them yet. She was eating bananas and loved them so much. I turned away and when I looked back, she was out cold. Soooo cute!
No teeth yet, but lots of personality. Ella is constantly smiling, except when I want to take a picture of her. She also has a voice....a very loud one. She makes these noises, I have never heard a baby do this or even how to describe it. It's kind of a squawk only with a little shriek thrown in....you need only be around Ella for a little while and you will know what I mean. She (and Abby) think Connor is the bees knees and it is impossible to changer her diaper if he is in the room and not standing directly over her. She will crane and strain to be able to see him. She is not sleeping as good as she once was and afternoon nap time is quite the battle. She loves to go to parties and get passed around. She is quite the social butterfly. She's our one and only, Ella Bella!

Abby's Summer
Abby has had a great summer! She has beaten the colic and is a much happier baby these days. Of course, she is teething now, but seems to be handling it pretty darn good. We did some sleep training and things were going great! Unfortunately, we have regressed a bit and will have to start over. Abby started eating solid foods in mid-June. She is doing really good with it and is now starting to work on some self feeding. I don't remember being this frightened about choking with Connor, probably because he was bigger, but I am working on working through it. Abby is an absolute joy. She loves hanging out with mama, maybe a little too much. But between you and me? I don't mind it so much. Here's our Princess Abby!

Connor's Birthday Party
So we FINALLY have a new computer so I am thinking it's time to get bloggin! I have missed you all so, and there is alot of catch up to play. Let's time travel back to late spring and celebrate Connor's 5th Birthday!! Yay!
For such an important event, we decided to "GO BIG" and have a party for Connor at the Aquarium with a shark theme. Since it will probably be a while before we can afford another big party, we decided to invite lots of friends. The Aquarium did a great job! The kids got to go on a scavenger hunt through the Aquarium, and eat shark cake and party in a special room designed to look like a sunken ship. Afterwards, some of us were treated to a show about animals that can be found in the rain forrest. It was a great day! Connor even got to celebrate with his cousins from Alaska along with Utah cousins and friends from the neighborhood. Even his baby sisters were there (though honestly, Abby did not look that scared during the party...must have been the flash) A fantastic start to being 5 years old!
