The following date, we went for a drive through Laguna Niguel and when we popped back on to PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) we found a great place to spend the day...Aliso Beach Park! They had a jungle gym, beautiful beach and near proximity to the clean bathrooms (bonus points) so we camped out for the day. Lonny and Connor built sandcastles and flew a kite while I plopped down on a towel, read a book, coveted ocean view homes and sighed contentedly (there was two ugly incidents of me chasing away seagulls - one went RIGHT IN my pack and grabbed a bag of Goldfish, and one went in Lonny's backpack and attempted to steal a box of granola bars!! Either they have gotten more aggressive since my day, or I am carrying better snacks!). It was a great day to be at the beach, but too cold to swim. Who cares? There is nothing better than laying in the sun, listening to the waves crash on the shore and hearing your little one exclaiming joy as he finds a sea shell, or builds a moat around the sand castle that will keep "the bad guys away from the princess!" Another incredible day, followed by a night of relaxation back at our hotel. It was time to start our trip home the next day.
P.S. - We never made it to the jungle gym ;)
